Surgery, Chemo, Radiation Did Not Cure Her! Made her worse off?

Dear Dr. Chris Teo,

Good evening.

My name is T and I am writing to seek your advice on my mother’s condition.

She is 72 years old and was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer with liver metastases on 30th August 2014 last year at KPJ, Ipoh.

The doctor advised for urgent surgery as the tumor was almost 100% blocking her colon.  The surgery was done on 3rd September 2014 about 3 days after the diagnosis.

About 4 weeks after the surgery, she undergone her first chemotherapy.  The chemotherapies were performed once every two weeks.  The CEA level go up and down during this process.  She was having numbness on her hand, feet and right face which I think may due to side effects of the chemo and her disease.  The numbness is still there today. At the same time, she is having lower back pain.

In February 2015 (during the Chinese New Year), her right eyelid  ‘drop/close’ suddenly and we sent her to hospital for investigation.  At that moment, she has already undergone  7 times of chemotherapy.  She was sent for plain CT Brain scan and report came back with the following comment :

“Heterogenous mass is seen at the right parasellar region with extension into sphenoid sinus and destruction of the adjacent bones.”

The doctor recommended a treatment consist of 10 radiotherapies treatment – one treatment a day for 10 days on the parasellar mass.  During the radiotherapy, the chemotherapy was temporary stop.

Chemotherapy was continued after this radiotherapy treatment.

Around one month after completion of this radiotherapy treatment (April 2015), her eyelid opened but she experienced double vision.  Unfortunately, in June 2015, her right eyelid ‘drop/close’ again and the lower back pain worsen.  We sent her back to hospital for investigation again.

The doctor performed ultrasound on her upper abdomen and X-ray Thoracic and lumbosacral spine.  The impression on the upper abdomen was reported as below :-

“ Diffuse liver metastases. Unable to detect any focal lesions by USS”

The impression on the X-ray was reported as below :

“ Osteoporosis with wedge compression fracture T10. No sign to suggest pathological fracture at the moment.  Lumbar spondylosis  incidently noted”

The doctor recommended another chemotherapy with new drug call “ Irinotecan”.  This chemo was done in 23rd June 2015.  She was discharged from hospital after the chemotherapy and is now resting at home with sickening side effects.

She has so far undergone 11 chemotherapy of 5FU, 2 chemotherapy of oral Xeloda 500 mg and 1 chemo of Irinotecan.  Her body is very weak now.

My mother is believer in herbs and we  hope that Dr. Teo can provide us with some advice.  Perhaps, shall I make appointment to see you so that I can bring her full medical report to seek your professional  advice.  The above is just a summary which I briefly recall.

For your information, I am her second son and is now working in Kuala Lumpur. My mother is now at hometown Ayer Tawar, Perak with my sister and brother looking after her.

Hope to get your favorable responses which I believe can offer some hope to our beloved mother and I appreciate for your time to go through this  email.

Best regards.

Colon-Liver Cancer

Dear Dr Chris,

I am writing this email to seek your medical help to treat my uncle, who is suffering from stage 4 colon cancer (spread to liver).
We hope to arrange a meeting with you on 15 March (Saturday) to let you have an analysis of his condition.
For your information, my uncle had recently undergo a colon surgery on 13 February 2014 but his family members has not decided on letting him undergo chemo treatment. My uncle is residing in Johore but currently is resting in Kuala Lumpur at his daughter’s house. I will be driving from Singapore to meet them at Penang. We know this is a special request but we will be very grateful if you could see him.

Thank you.

Surgery and Chemo Did Not Cure Her Breast Cancer

Dear Dr. Teo,

I am writing my email from Indonesia. My mother is suffering from breast cancer stage 4 and it is now quite severe. The chemo she is taking now does not seems to work on her. And it is getting bigger day by day.We would like to know whether you are available for consultation during 7 – 10 August?

Looking forward to hear from you soon. Thanks and Regards,

Reply:  9 August at 3 pm to 5 pm okay.

Dear Dr. Teo,

Thank you very much for your advice.

A lump on her left breast was sighted on July 2009. And a biopsy has confirmed that it was a cancer cells. She underwent treatment on herceptin +  capcitabine as suggested by Doctor. As the tumour got smaller, she had an operation to remove the cancer cells. Herceptin was administered after the surgery until  January 2010 and Hormonal therapy was given until early 2012 in hope to prevent relapse of the cancer. However, she did not take the hormonal therapy diligently and sometimes missed the therapy. During this time, she also took traditional Chinese medicine.

In February 2012, another lump was discovered and 3 courses of herceptin + capcitabine were administered without biopsy. The treatment was stopped end of March 2012. Traditional Chinese Medicine was used to treat the cancer after the chemotherapy.

As the tumour grown bigger by the day, chemotherapy resumed on September 2012 with different drugs, but later was stopped once again on December 2012, due to fatigue and agony and my mum refused to continue with the therapy.

After much persuasion, she started chemotherapy again on May 2013. At this stage the cancer has gone bigger and spread to liver. The latest CT scan showed that the lump has increased to 8 x 9.1 x 9.6 cm.

As current treatment is not receptive to the cancer anymore, the Doctor recommends using Herceptin and other drugs for the next treatment on 15 August 2013.

Please find attached for the report of CT scan and list of drugs she has taken.

After reading from your website, we learned that there are a lot of side effects from chemotherapy. Is it possible to reduce the side effects by consuming the herbal and will the herbal caused other side effects? Is it safe to stop the chemotherapy and rely on the herbal?

We could not bear to see our mother suffering from the chemo she is taking now and hope she will get better soon. Your further advice is much appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,

Eye Melanoma Spread to Liver After Surgery

Dear Dr Teo,

I got to know about your work through a friend and I would like to meet with you next Saturday, 27th July. My name is JM. I am a 53 years old Chinese lady from Selangor and recently found lesions in my liver during a annual ultrasound scan.

Here’s a brief history of my ailments:

Year 2000 I had enucleation of my left eye due to choroidal melanoma. Since then I went for yearly abdominal scans and pap smear to check out any metastasis. I had my scan in April this year and found 2 hypodense lesions in my liver.

My eye doctor at HUKM sent me for Endoscopic Ultrasound Scan biopsy and this was done on 17th June. The test confirmed abnormal cells seen and currently I have sent the slides for second opinion testing. Results will be known in a few days. I have lost weight; about 2.5 kg from early this year. I feel weak, tired, sleepy; especially after lunch.

I am following a healthy regime; eating plenty of salads and cutting down on meat and white rice. I exercise in the morning at least 5 times a week for 30 minutes each time. I am a non smoker and non drinker. Oh, I have started taking Sabah Snake Grass juice from 27th June. I have not noticed any marked changes since but noted minor changes like warmth in my palms and less loose bowels. Previously I am unable to hold down hot drinks or blended vegetables and fruit juice without having to make a quick dash to the toilet. I certainly believe that a change of diet and attitude will bring about positive changes to my conditions and therefore I would love to meet you soon. Thank you and hope to hear from you soon.

Extensive Colon-Liver Cancer: Do Eight Chemos – Only Three Months to Live

Dear Dr Chris,

I came to know you several years ago when you were on TV2 Forum talking about cancer… I quickly wrote down your no and kept it. I have also refer many of my clients – cancer patients to you.

Attached please see my uncle CT Scan report. He was normal and cheerful till April 2013 when the xxx Oncologist xxx asked him go xxx to do the CT Scan.

He now asked my uncle aged 79 to do 8 chemo!! We advised him not to, as he still can work, walk eat… We were annoyed as the Dr told him he has 3 to 4 months to live only!  Coz my  uncle asked him.  Of course he and his wife were extremely sad.  Now from a happy person, he has lost hope, suddenly feel so down, depress, no more smile on his face and he is getting weaker and weaker, as he has lost his appetite to eat.

I consulted a Dr in PJ, after seeing this report he said:

Eat more meat!  Lean red meats, fish, chicken etc… DO NOT GO VEGETARIAN.  He needs protein to stay strong and fight.  Don’t simply make your own conclusion that vegetarian is good. It can become very dangerous for cancer patients.  Body can shut down faster.  Eat more and eat well.  Balance meals, lots of water, fresh foods, fresh beef, lamb, pork, fresh veggies.

Food that he enjoy – keep him satisfied and positive.  Very little that you can do, but can make sure he lives a quality life, prolonged life, keep the body stronger for longer and last longer. Back to good nutrition, PROTEIN NUMBER ONE, good fats etc…

Highly appreciate if you could advice how can you help my uncle?  He stays in Negeri Sembilan.  He is a very kind, humble, lovable, generous, sociable and merciful person, we are extremely sad why he suffer such illness!!

I also forward his report for a doctor relative Dr K for adv.

Please help and appreciate your advice asap.

Thank you very much Dr Chris and may the good Lord Jesus bless you and all of us.

Warm regards, EL.

Reply:  Aya, what is so difficult — just bring him to come and see me. Bring all the scans and reports. And did he do the chemo?

Can he read? or listen or watch videos?   Go to my website…www.cancercaremalaysia.com  and click on the video presentation that I gave in KL on 11 May 2013.

Let him watch them.

In the video of my talk — same story — the doctors said: No surgery, no chemo you have only 3 months Now she is 3 years and still alive. Listen to that. http://cancercaremalaysia.com/2013/05/15/video-presentation-talk-by-chris-teo-11-may-2013-kuala-lumpur/

Then if he can read, get this book—Cancer What Now?

What is so difficult — the difficulty is people don’t believe or don’t what to help themselves —That I cannot help.

Take care, Chris

Thank you very much for your quick reply. No, they do not want him do chemo.  Just let him live the normal live till the end?  I asked his sons to watch and show the videos to his dad.  He only understands Chinese. A shopkeeper of a hardware shop, selling all kinds of pesticides, chemicals, cements, fertilizers, paints etc for more than 80 yrs. He do not want to travel to Penang, too far.

From Mumbai, India: Cancer (Peritoneal carcinmatosis ? Ovary with metastasis to liver?

Dear Sir,

This is regarding my mother Mrs. Suri who has recently been diagnosed with Cancer. I have already filled the registration form on the your website and am now enclosing all her medical investigations, reports, treatment being done  etc.

She has been advised 3 cycles of chemo therapy by Dr S H, Mumbai. Her first chemo was on 12.02.2013 and the next is due on 05.03.2013. Thanks and regards.

Reply: If you think I can help you, please come and see me personally with all the medical reports and scans. I am sorry we are not a direct selling company – we don’t sell herbs on line. I have already explained why we cannot offer help online as written in our website: www.cacare.org  and this is reproduced below:

For those who ask for help online

Thank you very much for writing to us about your problem. We fully understand the need to find alternative methods when medical science has failed. CA Care exists because of this need. In the past we did try to help cancer patients via the net. But our experience showed that we failed miserably. It did not work out.

To be useful to cancer patients:

I need to see patients personally or at least a family member who knows exactly the problem. I need to talk to them and assess their problems face to face. By seeing the patients, I might be able know what was wrong with them. Then I need to see all the medical reports and scans – blood test results, USG, MRI, CT or PET scan.  It is only after this study and dialogue that I know exactly what to do and prescribe the herbs. There are over 100 types of herbal teas that we specially formulated for cancer patients and they are specific for each problem. So to get the best from our experience means we just cannot do things on line.

After patient takes the herbs, I would need them to come back again after a week or two for me to assess the effectiveness of the herbs. If there is a need to I may have to add or subtract certain herbs.
By meeting and talking to patients and know what they eat, how they live, etc. I would be able to know what has gone wrong and suggest changes.

Cancer is a complex problem that involves both physical and mental aspects. Taking herbs alone is no magic. We have to do more than that – change of lifestyle, mental attitude, diet etc.
The above is nothing new. Patients need to be physically present to get help from their medical doctors. Every patient knows that. The same applies to CA Care. This is even more necessary knowing that almost all patients who come or write to us are medically failed cases – they are generally at the end stage where their doctors cannot meaningfully help them anymore. So at CA Care, I need to be more serious and more committed than just reading emails and trying to play god.

I hope you understand through this short explanation that it is extremely hard for me to help patients who live in foreign countries. I have tried this for some years and my experience showed me that at the end of it all, it is just a waste of effort and also a waste of money on your part. It is most frustrating indeed for me.

If you have read our articles in the websites: www.cacere.com or www.cacare.org orwww.CancerCareMalaysia.com patients do experience miraculous healing. You will note that these patients (or a family member) come here and we do the therapy together. That is the reason why they succeed. I need to see patients every now and then to know what is going on.

I don’t want to be negative.  I understand that you need help but I must be sincere and honest to myself too. In my heart I know there are times and situations when I just cannot help. The problem is beyond me to solve. And I also know that I cannot solve everybody’s problem in this world. I have been working very hard every day to help cancer patients and I know in my heart that I can do that much and no more.

But please don’t give up. If you open up your heart and mind, you will know that there are also alternative healers in your own country. Why don’t you try them? Ask around and you may find one. I am sorry for being unable to help.

Dear Doctor,

Thank you for your reply. I fully appreciate your stand and agree that a physical interaction is must for an effective treatment plan.  My only handicap was the time lag to get the visa and then fly to Penang and back which would cost us a lot of time and hence I was hoping for a discussion via email /skype. My friend Mr. Raj who is locally based there had offered to go to Penang to collect the medicines on my behalf and had also spoken to your wife on this.

Anyhow, if you prefer it’s imperative that Ii come personally (the patient unfortunately cannot travel since she is admitted in the hospital) then please advice if you can see me in the coming week like Tuesday or Wednesday and I shall get the visa processed and come to you immediately with all reports and details. Since my mother is already in the hospital and I am following up the matters here, most me or my younger brother will visit you. Both of us are well versed with her case.

Please advice. Thanking you.

Reply: You need to know that there is NO such thing as a cure. From the reports, I don’t think anybody can do anything at all.

Dear Doctor,

I understand that we cannot cure the disease. And Yes, it’s only symptomatic treatment that is being administered. Sir, I hope you will appreciate that like any son, I want to do the best I can for my mother. I am only looking at the possibility of prolonged survival and quality of life.

On the basis of the information you have on hand do you think this could be achieved? Please guide.

Reply: Difficult for me to say. I can only do my best but my best may not be achieved because it is out of my control. How can I help when the patient is far away? But if you think you want to try, you can come and bring the reports and scans. Chris

From India: Pancreatic Cancer that Spreads to the Liver. Gemzar not effective

Dr Chris,

My father was diagnosed with ca head of pancreas in India and he has undergone 6 rounds of chemotherapy with Gemzar. He started chemo late August and finished February 2013. His Ca 19.9 was 1085 iu at the start , then 750 iu after the 2nd cycle then 622.25 iu after the fourth. Then after the 6th cycle and a month later he repeated the test and it’s down to 392.22 iu/ml.

For the cost of travelling we decided to meet a Dr from my country Nigeria. He prescribed Tarceva and while browsing for information about the drug I ran into your website. I read a lot and am motivated to try alternative to chemical medicine. We want to give natural medicine so that we have positive side effects along with the care.

Presently, I just collected my father’s CT scan and it reads:

Features suggestive of pancreatic neoplasm with hepatic metastases. Left renal hydronephrosis and proximal hydroureter noted (?regional invation to the left ureter).

So as it is, the case is getting worse so we need to make plans fast to start on your herbs.

I know cancer has no cure but I know the quality of life can be improved if we care with herbs and improved diet.

R (Daughter)

Reply: Pancreatic cancer is the worse cancer and is very, very difficult. It is very hard for me to take care of patients from far away countries. It is just impossible. Chris

Dr. Chris Thank You, But My Wife Died

On Tue, Oct 30, 2012 at 5:22

H-733 was a 65-year-old lady. Our Herbs Did Not Cure His Mother of Her Terminal Leukemia Within Two Weeks

Dear Chris,

I wrote after seeing the above posting. My wife SJ.57 also passed away on the 24 October 2012 at 8.15am, with cancer started from her colon, ovarian, liver and lungs.

After her ops on her colon and ovarian on 22 May, 12, she declined chemo and we supported her wishes and my daughter took her to see your Subang branch and took the prepare boiled herbs for 2 months, then we went back to Sabah to attend her father’s 10 years death anniversary for 7 days. I asked her to bring all the herbs back but she said she can take the capsule type as not convenient to cook in others’ home. Told her we get a gas tank to compensate. She said too troublesome.

While there her feet swell and subside. On return my daughter saw her swelling feet and told her to go to Sunway Medical Centre but she declined. Saying there is no cure. I told them we go to Penang to see you but she declined as she said even Dato Punch Gunalan with a Doctor son also died. My daughter had to respect her wishes. She told me no cure for mum. Two weeks later her stomach bloated.

I told her that she might as well take holy water from her church if she declined chemo and Dr. Chris herbs. Then I gave Sabah Snake Grass for 2 weeks and nothing happens but her stomach kept growing
every week at the rate like a pregnant woman baby growing per month. She blamed me and the Sabah Snake Grass but told her I only administrate it after her bloating stomach.

My daughter said no cure, her liver motas and discharged liquid. Her eyes showed jaundice.  We requested the Govt. Hospital to tap the liquid. The Dr. said the motas had attacked her liver and ultrasound showed no liquid. We knew it’s a matter of time before her body system will shut down completely, yet I bullied her to fight on, until she chased me away. Saying I’m killing her faster.

Finally she agreed to go to Sunway Med. for tapping, the Dr. said there is no hope and he would not give chemo to his relatives AT THIS STAGE , but do pain management. Warded to monitor for tapping and this cost about RM10K a week to stay there. Her body was shutting down, she lost about 3 kilos fast every week. Eating 4-5 spoonful mee sauh every 3 hours. Tapping done twice. She died 5 days after the 2nd. Tap.

We thank GOD and Drs. She died peacefully with very little pain and we know we have done the best for her but we lost the battle.

I wrote to let Mr. Chin, the son of the above mentioned lady that I lost my wife, I blamed nobody but fate.
Let their souls RIP. Amen.

Reply: Thank you for writing. Do you mind if I share this email with others. I shall cut off your name if you want me to do so, but it is good if the name remains but with no phone number, otherwise people think I am cooking up this email. Thanks. Chris.

Dear Dr. Chris,

Please do with my name too for I wish to tell the truth. You did what you can to help others. My wife made the mistake to stop taking your herbs which help during the 2 months but she wanted a cure fast which is not possible as it was too late.

We wish to thank you, please continue to help us, as Dr. Amir wrote in the STAR saying
chemo may not be the solution (barking at the wrong tree) and the specialists should heed his warnings.

It is painful to lose a dear one and it is frustrating when no cure is found, but others were cured.

Thank you Dr. I admire what you do to fight cancer. May the GOD guide your hands.

Best regards,
Ng Thian Yew

Stage 4 Colon-Liver Cancer: I can’t help through e-mail

Hi Chris,

I am a caregiver for my dad (age 74) who was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer with multiple liver metastases in April 2011.  He underwent a laparoscopic high anterior resection surgery on the same month.  He did not go for palliative chemotherapy.   We are now seeking your help for the alternative cancer treatments.

Fyi, he has been on TCM after surgery till now.  He was doing quite well after the surgery with the help of TCM.  He started to have water retention on his abdominal, legs, feet and jaundice about two months ago.  He just recently had the drainage done on 1st Sept.  The procedure helped to relieve the bloating for the time being but understand the swelling will come back in no time.

He is unable to swallow hard food now and is on soft diet (i.e. fruit & vegetable juice, porridge, cereal & whole grain drinks, Ensure nutritional drink, etc).  His intake of meal or fluid is very little or minimal.  He is physically very weak and is unable to travel from Johor to visit you for consultation.

I am his sole caregiver and will be difficult to visit you in person.  Would it be possible to have your consultation through email or phone?  Please advise if there is a convenient time that I may reach you via phone. Your prompt response is greatly appreciated.  Chris, thanks in advance for your help and time.

Reply: I am sorry it is just not possible for me to help people  by sitting in front of the computer … what can I do? Since he has been taking TCM herbs … go ahead and use them … I think they can do better than me sitting down here and trying to imagine what is actually going on.
